[ Physical Appearance ] Envy Envy 1 True Form Standing at 5’ 4” (162cm) tall he is shorter than the average teenage boy. He has an unusual build; skinny but with visible muscle at the same time, his eyes are violet and the pupil is thin and stretched, much like a cat’s or a reptile’s. His hair is dark green and separated into thick, pointed locks that come down past his waist in length, the dark colour contrasts his skin which is milky and pale. He wears a black headband over his forehead with three red circles in a triangular formation, linked together with a thin, red line and there are three more of these circles on his back, one on each shoulder blade and a third in the centre of his upper-back between the other two, these are also linked together with a red line in a zigzag formation, on his left thigh is the red Ourobouros (a serpent eating its own tail) mark. When not in uniform, Envy prefers to wear very little. He has a preference for leather and is often seen wearing a black, skin tight top that exposes his midriff and shorts of the same colour. He ties a black cloth around his hips that usually ends up hanging slightly lop-sided and binds his feet and hands with black fabric. He wears his uniform much in the same way as everybody else, but removes the shoes at every opportunity. However, Envy is a shape-shifter capable of mimicking any person or object he chooses and in contrast to his preferred cute, androgynous form, his ‘true form’ takes the form of a gigantic monster five times his normal size that is mostly made up of the souls used to create his Philosophers Stone. In this form, his right eye is jet black with the violet iris and reptilian pupil remaining, his left eye is white with multiple irises, all the same colour with the same odd pupil. The parts of his body that aren’t concealed by writhing souls are covered with tiny scales and thick, curved spikes run along his back. The red circular markings on his forehead remain as does his hair but those are the only similarities between his monstrous ‘true form’ and the cute form he prefers but so far there is no proof that this is what he genuinely looks like and it could easily be just another false image. [ Personality ] Twisted and downright sadistic, Envy takes great pleasure in manipulating others, both to do his own bidding but also simply for his own amusement. It has been said that at some point early in his life a few screws were knocked loose or had never been there in the first place and at a glance his erratic mood swings and manic grinning certainly would support this, but behind his cute face and eccentric expressions lies a devious, calculating mind plotting the unfortunate demise of another town or more importantly, Hohenheim of Light. Despite his tendencies towards violence and his twisted humour; he is also rather childish in his mannerisms; he detests fighting because of the pain involved even though he has his regenerative powers and superhuman strength and agility. On top of that, he is also vain about his appearance, preferring to maintain his perfect image of youth and cuteness so he is very self-conscious of his ‘true form’. He possesses a dry wit but regards the world in a very childish manner, like his name would suggest he easily becomes jealous to the point of obsessing over something. Envy craves intimacy and affection to the point where he will often fly into a furious, violent rage if he sees this kind of attention being doled out to anyone else who he feels is undeserving. [ History ] The first Homunculus, Envy was created in a failed transmutation by Hohenheim of Light during his attempts to resurrect his son who died at the age of eighteen of mercury poisoning. Shortly after the transmutation was completed he was abandoned by his creator and left in the care of his ‘mother’ which first began his decent into madness. He developed a fierce hatred towards his creator which soon extended out to cover the whole of humanity and he made it his lifetime goal to track down and kill the man in cold blood. He has lived a long life and whilst he has forgotten most of his achievements, the most memorable was his involvement in the Ishballan war. Working together with Pride, he manipulated the military from the inside in order to stir up support for them to set up a base within Ishbal with the objective to control a few small, rebel groups who were beginning to become a threat. Whilst in Ishbal he took the form of a soldier who was directly opposed to the military’s involvement but had been deployed anyway and it was in this form that he shot and killed a small child with a single bullet that triggered what later became known as the ‘Ishballan Massacre’ to produce souls en’ masse that would later be used to create a new Philosophers Stone for his ailing master although his actions were not spurred on by any kind of loyalty towards the woman who raised him. Since the massacre, he has spent most of his time slipping in and out of the military, assuming different forms and spying on their every move but was recently slipped into Dusk Academy as the Homunculus Pride took on a more active role. Whilst posing as a classmate he is waiting for his chance to repeat what happened in Ishbal to provide yet more souls for the creation of the new Philosophers Stone.
